Forrest Mangan, a 2003 agribusiness graduate of Cal Poly, seeks to regain the rich tradition of Cal Poly livestock judging through teaching livestock evaluation, communication skills and team unity as the livestock judging coach at Cal Poly.
Mangan teaches ASCI 226, livestock evaluation, and ASCI 326, advanced
livestock evaluation. He currently pursues a master’s degree in agriculture.
As the livestock judging coach, Mangan’s goal is to see his team
become competitive on the national level. Mangan competed on the Cal Poly
livestock judging team. In 2001, he was named top judge for the team. He
competed on the San Joaquin Delta College livestock judging team while
studying there.
Mangan and the Cal Poly Livestock Judging Team compete at the Arizona
National in Phoenix, the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo.,
the Houston Livestock Show, the Ft. Worth Stock Show, the Cow Palace in
San Francisco, the American Royal in Kansas City and the North American
International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky. |
