Each
year, students are hired to live and work at the Sheep Unit. These
student managers have a wide range of responsibilities, as there
are no professional herdsmen at Cal Poly's sheep unity. Most management tasks are performed
in the laboratory sections of the systems of sheep production class.
Students can design individual study classes to focus on specific
interests. Both on and off-campus internships are available for
upper division students. Employment opportunities in the industry
are made accessible to the students through on-campus electronic
resources.
