The 140-acre Cheda Ranch accommodates the campus flock. The sheep graze the ranch and have improved the quality of the rangeland
in the short time they have been located at Cheda. This unit has a component of 24 irrigated and non-irrigated pastures, which are intensively managed using the sheep as the primary harvesting tool. Sheep pens were built into the existing dairy barn and corrals were created using custom made panels. The working facility is modular and features labor-saving equipment. The sheep unit renovated the old milking barn into a classroom/shearing/lambing barn with laboratory facilities, a wool press and storage capabilities. The unit also features two dormitories that can house five students each.
